Why I’m Writing & About What

My purpose is to support the ambition of others to meet promise and potential.  This blog explores fundamental business concepts both practically and anecdotally. The intention is to make sense of the workplace and improve others’ careers.

What You’ll Take Away

Learn something, rethink, reframe, gain perspective, or even acknowledge previous understanding of the work environment of which you are a part.  Improve yourself and your career along the way.  You may even step outside of yourself to help others!  (Hint: That’s a big part of business and work satisfaction.)

Interviews of the Ambitious

The Ambitious Among Us

I informationally interviewed local businesspersons–who I called The Ambitious Among Us–to learn about the person behind the job. This led me to understand and write research-backed articles about their personal ambitions and personal strategies.

What are some ways for an individual to scale-up their personal lives and/or professional careers? This was the number one question I received after giving a talk this evening called The Scale-Up of You. I’m going to continue that talk with this article by similarly weighing heavily on combining opportunity and resources.

My Own Research Results

Observation helped develop a model for explaining personal ambition.

Experience taught me the best question to learn about someone else’s ambition.

Other Research

In support of my articles, some of the world’s great minds, talents and thought leaders gave me permission to upload their content.

Examples include:

  • A Fields Medal winner.
  • A World Barista Champion.
  • A researcher from the Stockholm Resilience Center.
  • The most popular fountain pen reviewer on YouTube.
  • Two world-renown guitarists.
  • An award-winning career expert and podcaster.
